North American Savings Bank (NASB) Provides Three Year, $150,000 Commitment to Center Education Foundation’s Racial Equity Education Program
NASB is pleased to announce a $150,000 donation to Center Education Foundation that will support the Center School District’s DEI education program. The bank will provide $50,000 per year over a three-year period to support the new program.
In 2021, the district placed an intentional focus on helping to ensure equitable access to education, social-emotional support, hiring, and finance. This exercise culminated in an opportunity for a racial equity curriculum for the district, which is now integrated into the Center School District’s 2021-2026 strategic plan. The district has already funded $100k of the $350k estimated cost for the full three-year period, and NASB’s donation will help close that funding gap.

Improving racial equity in our school district and in our community is a fundamental part of our Strategic Plan and essential for us to meet our goals as a school district. The generous support of partners like NASB will help to transform lives,” said Director of Communications and Development, Rick Chambers.
NASB’s giving mission is focused on supporting organizations that serve children and families in the Greater Kansas City community who are in greatest need. Investment in programs like the Center School District’s DEI Education Program will help enable opportunities for equitable, positive change in the district and community overall.

The Center School District is partnering with Educational Equity Consultants (EEC) to facilitate training and related support for infrastructure changes over a three-to-five-year period in the school district.
